Langkawi CARE brings tourism businesses, public agencies and the island community together to improve the visitor experience. This Langkawi App guide explains the initiative, helps you prepare useful feedback and shows you where to submit a report or check its status on the official portal.

Published by Langkawi App. The official Langkawi CARE portal receives reports and handles status checks. This guide does not collect complaints or identification details.

Select Submit a Report or Check Status there.

## What CARE means

### C: Clean & Comfortable

Shared spaces and visitor facilities should feel welcoming and well cared for.

### A: Accountable

The visitor experience is a shared responsibility, from an individual operator to the wider destination.

### R: Reasonable & Reliable

Visitors should be able to understand what they are paying for and receive the service described.

### E: Excellent Experience

Thoughtful, professional service helps a good visit become a lasting memory.

## Five pillars of Langkawi CARE

Pillar names are official. Practical examples are Langkawi App editorial guidance.

### Care for Value (Harga Berbaloi)

Clear prices and a service that matches the offer help people make confident choices. If reporting a pricing concern, distinguish the advertised price from the amount charged.

### Care for Hospitality (Langkawi Mesra)

A warm welcome includes clear information and considerate service. Describe the interaction you experienced rather than making a general judgment about an entire business.

### Care for Cleanliness (Langkawi Bersih)

Clean beaches, shared spaces and facilities matter to residents as well as visitors. A precise location and a relevant photograph can make a cleanliness report easier to understand.

### Care for Safety (Langkawi Selamat)

A tourism concern is more useful when it identifies the activity, place and circumstances. CARE is a feedback channel; a report should not be treated as a request for an immediate emergency response.

### Care for Visitor Voice (Suara Pelancong)

Feedback can explain what went well, suggest an improvement or raise a concern. Specific, balanced observations give the receiving team something practical to work with.

## How to make a report

1. Open the official portal. Choose English or Bahasa Melayu, then select “Submit a Report” or “Hantar Aduan”. These controls open the official form on that website.

2. Choose the type, category and area. Select Complaint or Feedback, the most relevant category and the Langkawi area. The portal includes “Other / not sure” when you cannot confidently name the area. A precise location is optional.

3. Explain the experience. Describe the issue or suggestion and add relevant photos if you have them. The preparation checklist below is editorial advice, not a list of extra official requirements.

4. Review the identity option. For an identified complaint, use the name and valid IC or passport details requested by the official form. Its email field is optional and is described as the channel for a report copy and response. Enter personal details only on the official portal.

5. Save the confirmation. After sending, keep the reference number and any official confirmation or private reply link. A reference identifies the report; it does not guarantee a particular decision or outcome.

## Choose a category

Official categories with editorial preparation prompts, not agency-routing promises.

- Safety (Keselamatan): Describe the activity, hazard and exact place involved.

- Cleanliness (Kebersihan): Identify the beach, premises or shared space and what needs attention.

- Service (Perkhidmatan): Explain the service expected, the interaction and what happened.

- Pricing (Harga): Separate a displayed or agreed price from the final charge; keep the receipt.

- Transport (Pengangkutan): Include the journey, operator and pickup or arrival point where relevant.

- Public Facilities (Kemudahan Awam): Name the facility and a nearby landmark so it can be located.

- Tourism Products (Produk Pelancongan): Describe the tour, attraction or experience and the offer you booked.

- Others (Lain-lain): Use a factual description when the other categories do not fit.

## Prepare a useful report

- Note when it happened, the business or activity involved and the specific location. A nearby landmark can help distinguish similar places.

- Keep the booking details, receipt or advertised offer if they are relevant. Describe the difference between what was agreed and what happened.

- Write a short factual account in time order. The portal description allows up to 2,000 characters, so put the essential facts first.

- Choose up to three relevant photographs. The official FAQ lists JPG, PNG and WebP files with a maximum of 5MB per image.

- Decide whether you want to make an identified complaint or deliberately choose the portal’s report-only option. Read the current conditions before sending.

### Illustrative report-writing prompt

On [date] at [time], I visited/booked [business or activity] at [location]. The advertised or agreed service was [details]. What happened was [specific facts in order]. I have [relevant receipt, booking information or photo]. I would like the receiving team to review [clear concern or suggestion].

## Identified complaint or report-only

### Identified complaint

Identity: Name matching IC/passport and a valid identification number, as requested by the official form.

Purpose: The portal says complete identity details are required for processing toward enforcement action. An outcome is not guaranteed.

Follow-up: The optional email field is offered for a copy and response. Keep the reference and any private link.

### Explicit report-only option

Identity: The form has a separate option to send without a name or identification number.

Purpose: Recorded for monitoring and statistics only, according to the portal.

Follow-up: The portal specifies no enforcement action and no reply for this option.

The portal’s FAQ and form disclaimer describe incomplete identity details differently. If you intend to send without identification, deliberately select the report-only option and read its current conditions. Do not assume an incomplete identified complaint will automatically be accepted.

## How to check report status

1. Have your reference ready. Use the number issued by the official portal after submission. Keep the complete number, including its letters and separators.

2. Choose Check Status. Open the official CARE website and select “Check Status” or “Semak Status”. The status control is also available in its footer. Enter your reference there, rather than on Langkawi App.

3. Keep private replies separate. A public reference lookup and a private link for viewing replies are different routes. Retain any official confirmation email and its private link; do not publish the link or share it in a public review.

### Cannot find the reference?

Check the confirmation you saved and any email copy you requested. The public pages do not publish a reference-recovery procedure. Ask official support for guidance rather than guessing report numbers.

### Status is unchanged?

The portal describes review, categorisation, consideration at the Langkawi District Tourism Action Committee and referral to the relevant agency. It does not publish a fixed response or resolution deadline. Ask official support about your own case if you need clarification.

### Looking for a reply?

Check the official confirmation and private reply link, if one was provided. The explicit report-only mode states that it receives no reply.
