The experience

Dinner in a house, among the gardens

Nyonya cooking and a long table at Temple Tree.

Paloh is the dining room of Temple Tree, on Jalan Pantai Cenang. You eat in a restored heritage house, or out on the verandas facing the gardens and the pool. You do not have to be staying at the resort. Walk-ins are welcome.

The menu leans Nyonya and coastal: think laksa, nasi lemak with chicken rendang, nasi goreng, and platters meant for the middle of the table, alongside a few international plates. The bar pours beer, wine, and cocktails if the meal wants to stretch.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner run every day from 8am to 11pm. On some weeks there is live music on Monday. Pets can sit with you in the outdoor seats. It is about five minutes by car from the Cenang strip, and about ten from the airport.
